A Home to Come Home To
Each bright & cozy studio, one or two-bedroom apartment is ready for your personal touch. Decorate it as you like with your own furniture, pictures and personal articles. Suites feature a kitchenette equipped with a 4.3 cubic ft. fridge, sink, counter and cupboards, wheelchair accessible bathrooms with walk-in showers and safety bars.
Safety and Security
Each suite is equipped with state-of-the-art sprinklers, smoke and fire detection sensors as well as Lifeline®, the benchmark in personalized emergency response systems. Entry into the building is secure and controlled by a telephone-accessible intercom system.
Costs and Services Provided
Rents are based on square footage, floor plan and location within the building. Suites are rented on a month-to-month basis. Included are all services and utilities except telephone and hydro (a small monthly hydro surcharge will be added).
Light housekeeping, two delicious & nutritious daily meals plus a continental breakfast, activity schedule and Lifeline® emergency response system are included in the monthly rent. Telephone service is provided at nominal cost through Oak Tree Manor’s own telecommunications department. Long distance charges are competitive with other plans.
Assisted Living
Personal assistance services (home care) at Oak Tree Manor can be provided at additional cost by Vancouver Island Health staff, who work on premises seven days per week.
Oak Tree Manor is conveniently located within walking distance or a short taxi ride to most downtown services and is well-served by the Regional District’s HandiDART service.
Rental rates are based on single occupancy. In cases where a couple resides in a suite, a surcharge of $400 per month will be added for the second person.
Light activities are scheduled Monday thru Friday including bingo, exercises, yoga, outings, teas, concerts by local bands and musicians, and special events.
Food and Dietary
Our residents enjoy home-style dining prepared and served by our highly trained staff. We focus on bringing a wide variety of menu choices tailored to the preferences of our residents. Residents can also order choices via our alternate menu and are always welcome to order seconds and thirds.
Residents are encouraged to participate in our dietary decisions through a suggestion box and monthly resident meetings. They can expect traditional menus plus the opportunity to experience new specialties on a regular basis. Our residents will always find a variety of menu items to suit their taste.
We work to ensure that most special dietary needs for each of our residents are met. Many foods are prepared from scratch with a minimum amount of salt, and sugar-free desserts are offered at every meal. Residents dine with us knowing that their nutritional requirements will be met each day in a menu designed to be healthy and delicious. We even have an "alternates" menu at dinner!
All of our meals are served restaurant-style so residents have the opportunity to socialize with friends in our spacious and bright surroundings. We invite you to visit Oak Tree Manor for a tour (and lunch!) so you can see for yourself how we surpass expectations in every category.
